In exactly a week, we will be traveling to my hometown, LONDON for three and a half weeks! We booked this trip a while ago so it didn’t really hit us that this trip is just around the corner! Now it’s literally a week away, so that means I am officially on vacation mode. I’m at the point where I am continuously watching London autumn aesthetic videos, researching every cafe and all the yummy things I will be devouring at M&S! We are also going to PARIS for a quick overnight trip so of course that means we are going to Disneyland Paris, too!! Can you tell I’m excited? I’ve been in cozy mode since September 1st even though it has been 100 degrees in Las Vegas, so going to London and Paris during fall time couldn’t be more perfect! 🍁
PACKING ROUTINE:
I usually try to get a head start on packing, but I’m at the stage where our suitcase is taking up the whole living room and all our clothes are sprawled out on the couch. Where do I even start?! Because we are staying there for such a long time, my usual packing ritual has gone out the window since it feels different from all our other weeklong trips.
I want this trip to be completely stress-free so that means taking care of all the tiny details that seem to slip through the cracks at home.
Here are a few things that I will be doing before we head to London:
- Deep clean our apartment so we can hit the ground running when we come back.
- Throw out any food that is about to expire in our refrigerator.
- Make sure our kitties have enough food/treats – write out any instructions for our cat sitter (my parents lol).
- Pay all our bills in advance so we don’t have to worry about it on our trip.
- Unplug any unnecessary things around the house (hairdryer, walking pad etc)
- Pre-set the AC so the temperature is comfortable for our kitties.
- Vacuum our whole apartment.
- Empty all our trash bins
- Pick up all our mail and packages.
- Water all the plants (we don’t have plants, but thought I would add it here incase you have any.
- Give our kitties (Rey and Finn) lots of cuddles and reassurance that we are coming back and not abandoning them lol
PACKING ITEMS THAT MAKE MY LIFE EASIER WHILE TRAVELLING:
Carry on suitcase + check in suitcase essentials
- Compression Cubes for bulky sweaters/jackets
- Packing Cubes to stay organized
- Laundry Bag for dirty clothes
- Compact Steamer – a travel lifesaver!
- Waterproof Shoe Bags to keep separate from clothes
- Toiletry Bag for organization – make sure they are waterproof and clear
- Bottle Wraps to prevent leakage
- Heat Resistant Hair Tool Bag with mat
- Electronic Organizer for chargers and cables
- Digital Luggage Scale to prevent overpaying at the airport
- Luggage Locks (TSA Approved) because it’s better to be safe than sorry
